A Halloween (F)Renzi

This Jack O' Lantern is pretty unassuming and common looking from the front...

But spin him around and...

I loved the "scaredy cat" relief surrounded by other Jack O' Lanterns and the words "Trick" and "Treat".

The pail was made by the A. J. Renzi company of Leominster, Massachusetts.  They were a plastics company focused on blow molds.  Their "meat and potatoes" were Halloween pails and piggy banks like this green "Porky Pig" knockoff from 1964 I found at a garage sale about a month ago.

Here are some other examples of A. J. Renzi's Halloween pails

"Casper"

with various reliefs including "Nightmare" the ghostly horse

"Richie Rich" whom I'm convinced is "Casper's" human form in his previous life. He was cursed to roam the Earth for his gluttony in life.

"Wendy" and "Casper". Not sure why they dissed "Hot Stuff" for another "Casper" shot.

This orange skull Trick or Treat Pail also came in white, red, purple, yellow and green.

I'm assuming this is a Gil Gerard Buck Rogers tie-in.

I yam what I yam.  And that's a Halloween pail.  Ug gug gug gug gug gug.

Your friendly neighborhood Spider-pail. "Shove candy where my brain should be!"

Hulk Smash...then Trick or Treat.

And finally, some more monster-geared items.

Kong also came in alternative colors, including this one that seems to have donated quite a bit to the Red Cross.  But seriously, what's a gallon or two to him?

This "Monster Mobile" seems to be the peak of their production. I'd love to find this.

Although outside of Frankenstein's monster driving, I'm not sure who the others are.  Maybe just some acquaintances of his. Hey, he doesn't always have to hang out with the "A" crowd like Dracula, Wolfman and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
