I've previously written about Imagineering and their glorious products and how they impacted my childhood. What I didn't know was how long they lasted.
I found this Imagineering "Fake Skin" at an estate sale late in the season last year. It dates from 1990.
I found this 1984 version on eBay.
I can't find any examples prior to this, so I suspect this product replaced the similar (if not identical) "Scar Stuf" product Imagineering sold in the '70's.
While I appreciate the imagery on the newer packaging, I have to say nothing can replace the original art for the Imagineering products done by Gordon Viges. Gordon Viges' daughter commented on my previous Imagineering post. I'd love to hear from her again and find out more about him and his career as an artist, not to mention if there is any original artwork still out there.
